Everything you need to know
Do I need barista experience to take this course?
Not at all. The course is designed for complete beginners, experienced baristas, and everyone in between. Day one starts with foundational skills and builds progressively. You’ll learn at your own pace within a small group of six to eight students, so the instructors can adapt to your level.
Is a barista course worth it if I'm not planning to work in coffee?
Many of our students take the course purely for personal enrichment. You’ll develop a deep understanding of coffee origins, extraction science, and sensory evaluation that transforms how you experience your daily cup. It’s also five days in an incredible city surrounded by people who share your curiosity about coffee.
How many cities can I choose from, and does the curriculum differ?
We run the course in nine cities: Paris, Barcelona, Berlin, London, Madrid, Milan, Amsterdam, Mallorca, and Sydney. The core curriculum is the same everywhere, so you’ll graduate with the same certification regardless of location. What changes is the city itself: the local coffee culture, the cafés you’ll visit, and the character of the experience.
How long does it take to become a professional barista?
Our five-day intensive gives you the technical skills, sensory training, and industry knowledge to start working as a barista immediately after graduation. The EBS certificate and SCA-aligned training are recognised across the industry. Many graduates land their first coffee role within weeks of completing the course, and our MatchStaff job network connects you directly with employers looking for trained baristas.
